Granny Squares
So, you want to try something a bit more "challenging". You've seen all those afghan's with the beautiful designs and you thought you would like to try it but are a bit nervous? Well look no more. Your dreams can come true! In this class we will work on creating three (or more) squares that you can duplicate and make your own unique afghan.
Students will work on maintaining a consistent gauge over multiple squares. They will learn double crochet, working in the round, changing colors and turning the circles into squares.

Requirements: | Crochet hook size F, G or H - if you have them bring them to class At least 3 different colors of worsted weight yarn - purchase at Fun with Sticks & Strings Note for a standard 48x48 afghan making 6" squares you will need to make 64 squares. If you use 3 colors on each square you will need approximately 6 100 gram skeins in each color to finish the afghan. |
