Small Animals-Amigurimi Style (funwithsticks-strings.com)

I know you have seen them, they are all the rage right now! Maybe you received a learn to crochet kit for Christmas and are not sure what to do next. Come learn how to make these cute little animals in no time.

The Japanese translation for “Amigurumi” means little crochet doll and this is what we are going to make in this class.

We will start with the basic pattern and the embellish it for the occasion.

The picture shows a bat and chicken but we can make just about anything.

These work up quickly and can be as simple or detailed as you like.

Materials: Any weight yarn will do. The weight of the yarn will determine the size of the doll. For example, worsted weight yarn will make dolls approximately 7-9 inches tall. DK weight will make 5-7 inches, etc. Hook appropriate for yarn, If you are a loose crocheter than I would suggest one hook smaller than the yarn recommends. Darning needle . Colors are up to you.
